The Abiqua Residence

Situated on a working farm along Hwy 213 outside Silverton OR this residence was designed to create a daylight-filled haven from the nearby tractors and traffic. The house and garage are sited behind a 127 'x 54' red, stuccoed 'L'-shaped wall. The buildings are capped with continuous clerestory under butterfly roofs that shed water to basins in the garden. The living room opens to a courtyard terrace with views and sounds of the Abiqua Creek. Flush panel cabinetry with bronze pulls conceal storage and sliding panels allow the study to convert to a guest bedroom.
